WELCOME TO FERNTREE GULLY CATTERY

Our accommodation here at Ferntree Gully Cattery is an intimate, purpose-built, indoor cat boarding facility attached to the Veterinary clinic.

We cater for short term stays as well as for guests with special medical needs, such as those on long term medications and diabetic patients. There is also an option of having routine veterinary procedures done while boarding; blood tests, dentals and or other elective procedures.

We can also look after your other furry friends such as guinea pigs, ferrets or bunnies!

All our guests are given individual one on one time and cuddles daily.

Our experienced team of Veterinarians and nurses are on hand should your cat require medical attention during their stay with us.

Our guests are offered only high quality premium dry and wet food and our accommodation is either single or double cages with all bedding supplied  however, if your cat has specific dietary requirements, please inform our staff and bring the food in with you for the duration of their stay. We use Feliway – a Pheromone comfort spray to reduce any anxieties and to help our guests settle and feel at home.

At Ferntree Gully Cattery, we have a strict policy for the protection and wellbeing of all our guests staying with us. Incoming guests must provide proof of current and previous vaccinations, as well as ensure your feline friend is up to date with their flea and worming treatments.

Ferntree gully cattery is available all year round for boarding; our busier seasons are Christmas and Easter holidays so please get in early to secure your place! There are no extra costs over public holidays, seasonal periods or extended stays.

Relax on your holidays knowing that your cat is in safe hands at Ferntree Cattery.

TIPS AND TRICKS AND FAQ

Boarding your cat for the first time can be a bit scary. Most cats are such a part of the family they pick up on “mum and dads” emotions. The more relaxed you are the more relaxed they will be. We welcome people to come in and have a look over the cattery and ask as many questions as you like. Just ask the nurse on reception when the best time is to come in and have a look at our accommodation.

CARRY BOXES – I'M OUT OF HERE!

Cats are very smart, as soon as they see there carrier they can usually guess that a trip to the vet is near so try and associate the carry box with good things. Bring the carry box out a couple of days before the trip, set it up near where they eat. A favourite blanket or something from home can be placed inside to make it more reassuring.

TWO OR MORE CATS THAT LIVE TOGETHER

If you have more than one cat we find it best to keep them together during their holiday -if they can tolerate each other! If you’re unsure we can always start them off together and if it turns out they need their own space we can separate them at no extra cost.

APART FROM VACCINE,  IS THERE ANY OTHER REQUIREMENTS?

Yes, your cat must be desexed and at least 3 months of age, 10-14 days before     boarding its best to give your cat a worm & flea treatment, please note that all guests found with Flea's, flea dirt or worms will be treated at their owners expense.

WHEN DO I PAY?

The balance is due on collection of your cat and no deposit is needed to secure a booking

MY CAT IS ON MEDICATIONS IS THIS OK?

Its best to discuss your cats health with the nurse when making your booking, as the cattery is unattended overnight, we can't accommodate all conditions,. Cats on medications are welcome to stay in the hospital at a different charge

WILL MY CAT BE IN CONTACT WITH OTHER CATS?

Under our strict care your cat will never be in direct contact with any other guests. It will receive plenty of attention & affection from our staff.
